Most of us have probably been to the Petersen Auto Museum at least once and maybe several times. Many of us have visited their famous Vault collection at least once.
So you may be tempted to think, “Well, I’ve seen the vault so I don’t need to see it again.” But you’d be wrong!

On Saturday February 21st the RROC will tour Peterson’s new vault hidden beneath the museum. It now
contains 300 to 350 cars and includes not only museum owned vehicles but also a number of privately
owned high end cars stored there at significant expense.

We’ll arrive at 10:30 AM and have our usual donuts and coffee before entering the museum. At 11:00 we’ll skip the line, enter as a group, and have our own private tour of The Vault. There are interesting cars that many of us won’t recognize so we’ll all
benefit from the docent guiding us through the collection. Our tour will take about 90 minutes. At its conclusion you’ll be able to go through the rest of the museum’s four levels on your own.Take as much time as you like.

Afterward (around 1:30 or whenever you are done looking at cars) you can join us just across Wilshire Blvd. at Fanny’s Café in the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Enter behind the museum from the east side of Fairfax. You won’t need to pay museum admission if you tell them you’re going to Fanny’s or just enter via the door that leads directly into the café. The menu has items from $6 to $28 and since it shares the same kitchen with Fanny’s restaurant, the food is excellent. They call it their takeout menu but there is plenty of seating opposite the display counter or outside if the weather is nice. Naturally, everyone pays for their own lunch.

**Note** Leave your car in the Petersen garage to avoid moving it and paying another $24 parking fee in the LACMA garage and walking from the parking lot.

The cost is $66 per person which includes Petersen Museum admission and a 90 minute docent led tour of the vault.
If you plan to park in the museum’s parking garage (normally $24) that’s available at a discounted rate of $18 for our group ONLY if you prepay.

If you register and pay on the club’s website www.rroc-socal.com it will automatically ask you if you want to prepay $18 for parking. If you send a check to Howard or use Zelle you’ll need to remember to add a note that you are paying for parking in addition to the number of people you are buying tickets for.

RSVP before February 13th to get the early bird pricing of $66 per person, after the RSVP date tickets will be $72 per person.
